How Germany Has Come To Terms With Its Past

Location: Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Woolfolk Gallery

Retired German diplomat Stefan Schlüter will discuss “How Germany Has Come To Terms With Its Past,” including how the educational system in Germany has addressed the issue of the Holocaust. There will follow a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Tina Kempin-Reuter, Director of UAB Institute of Human Rights, to include discussion on how the US has addressed some it’s own difficult historical issues.
