Beginning in 2026, Alabama’s newly adopted social studies standards will require over 3,000 teachers across the state, many of whom have never taught the Holocaust, to bring this vital history into their classrooms. This major milestone for Holocaust education creates an immediate and unprecedented need for support from the AHEC. Teachers will need expert guidance, high-quality resources, and significant training – and they need it soon.
