Since the outbreak of the war in Israel and Gaza, incidents of antisemitism have increased by more than 400% and Islamophobia by more than 200%. As educators, our team at the Alabama Holocaust Education Center has examined the events leading up to the Holocaust and has identified common threads happening today. Misinformation, propaganda, and intolerance are rampant and dangerous.
In response, we have created Taking Action Together, a virtual lunch and learn program series designed to bring our communities together through conversation. Using the lessons from the Holocaust, we will address pertinent topics and demonstrate actionable ways in which people can create social impact.
All programs will be held on Zoom. Although there is no cost to attend, registration is required. See below for our upcoming Taking Action Together events and how to register!
