Teacher Workshops

The AHEC is proud to offer academic-based professional development opportunities in the form of regularly scheduled teacher workshops. These workshops: 

  • Offer a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Holocaust and human  interest studies as it pertains to your teaching 
  • Occur throughout the year, as half-day or full-day experiences  
  • Are led by leading Holocaust scholars and AHEC staff
  • Offer PowerSchool professional development credit, a certificate of achievement, and–in some cases–substitute reimbursement

Teacher Cadre

Join our Teacher Cadre where we connect like-minded educators from around the state of  Alabama to network and share best practices. Gain access to exclusive educational resources and join a professional community. Meetings are held four times a year and professional development hours are available.

PowerSchool Certification

Access the AHEC’s PowerSchool professional development credit. Available both online and in-person, we’re able to further your career while offering insight into the cutting edge of Holocaust education.

Fellowship Application

The new AHEC Teaching Fellowship is an exciting professional opportunity designed to support and empower educators in Holocaust Studies. Through specialized training, curated resources, and ongoing professional development, the Fellowship equips teachers with tools to deepen their knowledge and enhance classroom instruction.
